Jim Stone's - Big Band Swing
WLNZ 89.7 FM The Capitol City Jazz Connection

'A New York Mood' - Joe Battaglia NY Big Band - Joe leads one of the finest big bands in the country today. The quality of this band is reminiscent of the bands from the 30's and 40's. It's nice to know there is a group of musicians and singers still out there playing some great music like "Stardust", "What's New" and "Tenderly." Hats off to the talented Mr. Battaglia and his New York Big Band. Keep up the good work Joe!

'Close Your Eyes' - Joe Battaglia and the New York Big Band - Joe is back with another superior CD. We all remember Once More With Feeling which is still getting air play on BBS and now Joe has just released exactly what the Swing Doctor ordered—A tribute to Harry James and Ray Anthony. The selections are unparalleled for excellence, from the title cut to Anthony's Man With The Horn and Harry's I've Heard That Song Before. This band is tight and the trumpet work is unsurpassed. It's good to hear a band that is disciplined in technique bringing us the feel of the original but with fresh new arrangements that make us aware the year is 2000 and not 1944. Great job Joe!

Joe Franklin

WOR Radio NY

Joe Battaglia and The New York Big Band continue the great tradition of swing and beautiful ballads, which spotlight his unique, and brilliant trumpet sound.

Ray Anthony
Los Angeles, CA

As with Harry James and myself, it's not the metal instrument that creates a beautiful sound, it's the warmth and feeling you put into it. Joe's sound is magnificent.

Swing Time Magazine

Joe's trumpet sound on lush ballads are a thing to behold. The Band swings with the best. Joe Blends nostalgia and Generation X for enchanting new entertainment.

'Close Your Eyes' - Joe Battaglia & The New York Big Band - I'll lead the dance line as we swing into the new millennium with Joe Battaglia, his sweet horn, and his great New York Swing Band. From a dreamy ballad, I Know Why, to a swinging It Had To Be You, the band unequivocally claims its place as one of today's great Big Bands. Wonderful vocal stylings from Tony Babino and Susan Turner.
